Who are we?
Belle is there for all (ex-)sex workers and victims of human trafficking in the district of Utrecht and Gooi and Vechtstreek. We strive that every sex worker has the freedom and safety to make their own choices. So they can organize their live as they wish.
Belle offers help and services. In our center for information and advice you are welcome with short questions, buying work supplies, one of the consultations or just to have a coffee or tea. Do you have an extensive question, would you like to talk to a social worker, do you feel restrained to make your own choices or feel unsafe, please contact one of our social workers.
Sex Work Alliance for Destigmatization (SWAD)
In the Netherlands, sex workers still do not receive the same treatment as other people in legal forms of employment. They continue to face stigma, violence, stricter laws and regulations, and limited access to healthcare. This negatively affects their position and well-being.
To change this, we are joining forces with a broad group of like-minded individuals and organizations. A total of 22 sex work organizations and initiatives — including Belle — have united in the Sex Work Alliance for Destigmatization (SWAD). Our shared goal: to combat the stigma surrounding sex work.
Global Network of Sex Work Projects (NSWP)
Belle is a member of the Global Network of Sex Work Projects (NSWP), an organization that amplifies the voices of sex workers around the world. The network is committed to:
- Recognizing sex work as legitimate work.
- Decriminalizing sex work and ensuring legal equality for sex workers.
- Supporting sex workers’ rights to self-determination and collective organization.
